Woman Viewing The Dunes pictures - / very lovely, and the sand on the flip flops is a nice touch, too. / Love the concept. The towel and the flip flops are a nice addition. / , very nice job. Especially with adding the towel in. I didn't realize it was an addition until NewsMaster mentioned it. / i like the concept, but i think u have to move a little down the added background source to match the perfect perspective.

Paper Clip Wins pictures - Many voters were confused by the new touch screens and attempted to access the help system... / a better quality (read: bigger)source and you might have a winner here / I find nothing wrong with the "quality" of your entry, at all (regardless of the SIZE of the source image). in my humble opinion, the content is well expressed, the presentation is great and the depth of thought contained in your entry is superb. I honestly didn't even consider either of those stipulations before my reply. Although, this image does meet those minimum standards (thank goodness for my sake, eh.). I'm not qualified to say but, should size really matter more than what one does with it. / I generally agree with you Michigander, I merely offered the comment that typically, a larger more eye-catching image will garner more votes. I think this is a great entry, an excellent idea well chopped and overall just brilliant. Unfortunately, however, a lot of great entries never see the top 3 because of their size. To quote from the FN FAQ: "As you browse through previous Freaking News contest submissions, see if you can find a winning entry that is less than 300 pixels wide. I doubt that you can, because they look skimpy and cheap against the larger images. " So I restate my earlier comment - if this were a larger image I think it would be a winner. / --> I see it's been resized to meet the minimum 90K pixels, and the quality didn't die. / I agree with a lot of what's said here from everyone. I know that I really take image size into consideration now because of past failures of my own. I once submitted an entry that was too big and really only showed my work when viewed full. I think back and had I cropped to that perfect size, perhaps I would have faired better. Image size does matter, IMO. Now to the entry at hand..very funny and done well. (I only wish I could view the image at a larger size to see the artwork done here.) .
