Paul Ross

Regretfully Paul Ross, a member of our FN Family passed away today. That is about all that has been made public so far. You can find his page on Facebook under Paul Ross. I believe his brother Steve is handling some things lift some of the burden from his wife

I have just heard the sad news too
Very hard to believe it. And we emailed each other just days ago, he never said about his health issues, was cracking jokes and being his usual self.

As written on his tribute page, Paul passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 29, from a series of unforeseen health complications stemming from a persistent infection. He was admitted into the hospital on Sunday.

RIP, Paul, we will miss you...

I was wondering why he was less present last week on the "News in picture". Now I have my answer, and I don't like it.

He was a great artist, I learned a lot from him. Even if I didn't know him personnally, I know through his art that he was someone smart and funny, he sure was someone great.

He will be missed.

Paul was a saint, He was so kind and supportive, last year, my daughter had terrible problems with her jaw. He gave good advice. The bone died in the affected part but if it wasn't for Paul insisting on getting a second opinion it would have been so much worse.
My oldest daughter almost died in January and was in hospital for weeks followed by daily nurse visits. She appreciated Paul so much they kept in touch and she sent him a miniature painting of Kevin. At one time she did chops for FN.
I fear poor Kevin must be pining for him. Paul adopted him when he kept coming to visit. He adored Paul. So sad.

Been really sad and depressed about Paul's passing.I always looked up to him and his entries always made me laugh.Never got to know him too much on a personal basis, but I know he was a good man.Life is so fragile and one is never promised a tommorrow.Couldnt bring myself to enter a chop in his memorial contest, just know I could never do him justice.I am gonna miss him and his work, just feel really down about this.

I remenber the first time i realized that PCRDDS was a retired periodontist and i said myself WOW this is pretty cool ! And then voting everyday i saw many of this awesome chops, and i say myself that this guy was a kind of photoshop machine gun, doing maybe one or two high quality chops each days this is very very impressive. Very sad to learn this, this man will always be a myth for me.

Still I can't believe we never see Paul's art pictures on FN.
Paul was the best artist and friend for all of us.
I think we have to create some trophy named by Paul Ross name.
May be 100 Gold Cups Paul Ross Club?

I logged on for the first time in several days and saw the tribute contest just now. I'm stunned to learn our community has lost a legend. I always felt he had an incredible sense of humor and the skill to express it perfectly into his images. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

I can think of a few politicians and celebs that won't miss him but I think there are enough choppers here to keep their fears alive. Hehe

Wrote a little something as an ode to Paul...

Came as a shock to see you go
No “tell’ or “signs” for us to know
That your time was up, that last chop done
Then vanished like the setting sun
Gonna miss you Paul, ole Doc my friend
Sorry to see this come to an end
It feels like you had more to give
So –tis my wish that you could live
Once more to chop, another day
Would be so nice to see you stay
But whatever’s next in your future quests
We sure do wish you the very best
You made us chuckle, you made us ponder
Find joy as you soar, the skies up yonder

You will be missed
