Choose a direction for the light source and cast a slight shadow down through the cut out area onto the pencil surfaces. Then apply a similar shadow from each pencil within the pack onto the back of the red area only. The final shadow will be from the points of the pencils where they spill out onto the white canvas area and from the pack itself. Make sure that you cast this shadow just from the part of the pencil outside the red area as you don't want a double shadow. This will give your entry much greater depth. / Quality work, but I would consider the same idea with slightly rotated pack so that it looks 3-D.
