For those who don't like it, at least it may be comforting to know that everybody gets better with practice. / Yes, I looked that up as well. That offending dark layer is the undercoating for the ol' saints hide. Gads, Smeagols mug was an improvement, Jerry was one ugly character. As I said wasn't criticizing your work which is excellent, but just knew something was amiss in that main painting...unfinished qualifies as amiss, I think. / We're lucky to still have the original - Originally in the Vatican collection it passed into the hands of Angelica Kaufmann. Supposedly it was then mislaid and someone cut it into two pieces.
