Very solid concept, but there's a big lighting mismatch. Look how the lighting hits the viewer's right side of her face, but the viewer's left side of his body. Also, the shadow density from the shadow he is casting is far denser than the shadow cast from her lip, and he is further from her face. Try adding a brown tone to the shadow sampled from the shaded region from her face, and add it to his shadow, apply a 1.0 or so gaussian blur, and drop the opacity so the shadow better matches the ones found in your base image.
