 The White House, Dawn of the Dead funny pictures - / hmmm, last place and again no feedback on why, guess my brand of humor is just no good here, guess I should look for another site to post my jokes. Must be more about photo quality and less about humor/political satire huh. / Swami, vote are mainly casted on photoshop quality. Humour does add to the image but quality is more important. If you want to learn a few tips and tricks just ask and Iīll be glad to help. The learning curve is a long one and probably never ends. Also keep in mind that there are some great Choppers in here so if the results donīt go your way donīt feel bad just make sure to try harder to kick their buts next time 3 Quick tips 1. shadow under Kerry 2. Levels adjustment on source pic 3. Levels and texturing on the blood / (Use a bit better source images to maintain some crispness.) Me like...me like lot...me vote...me go to look at others now. (How's that for a Frankenstein..) / Just a suggestion on your text try to apply a drop shadow and or play around with the other various blending/layer options that will spice up your listing. The blood in the fountain could use some level adjustment or try setting the opacity lower. Im new to the site and like Hipnoart said the learning curve is steep. Although im close to the bottom alot Im still having fun and trying to improve. Dont give up keep on choppin dude. / I think also that one hasta learn not to take it so personally,take the advice above on board & enjoy your PSing, if you do the best you can that is all that matters, we are not judging you, we are voting on images... Also as said...you want help. Many of us are only to willing to lend a hand b4 you hit the submit button / Another good idea is to take a look at past winners. Try to look for features (good sourcing, perfect blending) that make a winning picture. Sometimes something small that is overlooked can cost you up to a point off your average. Here are three things that would help this image do better: 1) A better source image on Kerry's body. A good PS rule is to always shrink, never expand when it comes to an image. Start by hunting for large images and scale them down to fit. 2) Masking is something that people voting on an image will always have in mind. It's a matter of taking more time to clean up loose edges around an image that can go a long way. 3) Try to avoid sharp contrasts in color. For example, the bright red blood fountain, although a good idea, stands out too much from the background. Experiment with levels, hue and saturation, and opacity to help it look a little more realistic. You started with a really good idea here and there's some things that you did well. The things I mentioned are what stood out to me and a little more attention to detail always goes a long way. Avoiding putting self-referencing comments under your own entries also helps maintain the anonimity that leads to less paranoia. Good, positive comments help too - trashing others work does little to help ones entries rise up the charts. Vote well, vote fair, vote early and often, do good work, learn and be patient. This is a photoshop contest primarily although great humor can help swing the vote. The regulars here are a great bunch of folks - helpful, and a pleasure to trade comments with.
