This weekend was time to reset the clocks again as Daylight Saving Time began. We lose an hour of sleep as we "Spring Forward" and turn the hands ahead one hour. Daylight Saving Time was instituted in the United States during World War I in order to save energy for war production by taking advantage of the later hours of daylight between April and October. Daylight Savings Time (DST) begins each year at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March in most of the United States and its territories. However there are some places that have not bought into this campaign: it is not observed in Hawaii, American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands nor the state of Arizona except for the Navajo Indian Reservation, which does observe DST.
To celebrate resetting the clocks past weekend, design new clocks and watches *sundials, hourglass are OK too) from other things, or redesign existing watches and clocks (or sundials, hourglass) with some unusual elements.

Past Sunday at 2 am America turned clocks back an hour ago - this ended the daylight saving time for this year. Europe adjusted clocks a week ago - they call it "summer time". The daylight saving time convention started in 1907 to use natural light for an extra hour and conserve energy.
In this contest you are asked to design new watches and clocks (sundials, hourglass are OK too)

New York city has several public clocks which need regular winding to be kept on time. Clock Tower Building, City Hall, and other historical buildings all have old mechanical clocks, which have been wound for decades by Marvin Schneider, the city's official clock-watcher. He says winding these clocks feels like being in an entirely different century, plus there's a fabulous view on the city from the top.

 Golfer's Watch funny pictures - / I'll bet you could sell a lot of those. Love it . / Congrats, this is beautiful and creative. I think I noticed the players used to be blurred. Good change, making them unblurred ... really nicely done.. / Icy... They were blurred and the reason why is because the far edge of the arm was blurred so I couldn't have it go from blur to not blurred. I cloned over the blurred part of the arm and brought it into focus so then I could clear up the golfers. Unfortunately I had already blurred the hair I drew and didn't feel like redrawing it. |
