That was a virtual kick to the nuts if ever I've felt one. / it's not supposed to be. It was clear before I covered it in the layer than gave it the painted feel, but the fire on the one side, and the ice on the other looked way cooler after I applied the effect, so that's why it looks the way it does. I won't mention this again, but you're gonna notice that my style is different than what is typically popular here. some of that has to do with my program knowledge and what I have and haven't done yet, but most of it is choice. I absolutely respect the abilities of the people who work in the more common photoshop styles I see out there, but fantasy photos and large head caricatures are a dime a dozen and you can find a million of them with any google search. Art pushes boundaries and is supposed to evoke emotion. And, to me, ", that is technically impressive" isn't an emotion. Which isn't to say that these styles and pictures aren't incredibly technically impressive, because they are, but that's all they are to me. Anyway, I know that most people prefer that stuff, and that's cool, you just won't ever see it from me. / Excellent thinking, Fire on the other and snow on the other side, still the expressions are same, good job Hidden Nice idea like it / thanks. I also put the white shirt/boots on the fire side and the black one on the ice side intentionally, since the whole black is bad, white is good thing is so ridiculous. Whatevs. Now I sound preachy, which I never wanted to. Thanks agani.

Have redone the skin, not sure if it is better or not. / Agree with Eric, could try messing around with color balance... but great merge. / Looks good, but i think the image becomes much brighter, it would be look better if you do the contrast lesser, its my opinion / Spent ages on this, time to stop tweaking I think. / Agreed with Eric and Jim.  The Side Hangover funny pictures - um...yeah. / Need some color-tone matching over the face, and plz cover something over the window / It is color matched, based on the make-up she was wearing. The shading on his face was also opposite of what it is now, so I fixed that, too. I hate these simple looking ones. Everyone assumes they actually were simple. Also, finding the right pics so that one needn't overwork the the pics, as is so often the case here, is something of a skill. Oh well. Hopefully it made someone laugh. / I would say, with respect, the face is still a tad more pink than necessary. Great choice of dress, / you may be right, but that's what Annie's face looked like, so that's what Zach's face looks like. Funny enough, I wrestled with being true to the original or going with a color that matched more closely, because I figured on these comments. With 100+ entries, I knew I wasn't gonna win, anyway, so I went with faithful to the original. It's cool if you think it's off, though. / Don't mean to upset you as I can see your point, there is an alternative for future reference. When I get in a situation where it is too hard to do the face, I just adjust the colour of the background a little. If you quick mask the face, then go to selective colour -->neutral --> then add a teeny weeny bit of magenta that should work. / You didn't upset me in the least. I was just sayin'...I anticipated this reaction and I still did it. It wasn't gonna win, so stirrin' up a little trouble, without going after anyone or getting emotional about it (that's politics, right.) , was the next best thing. Wanna know what's really wrong with the face. It's too dark. If I upped the brightness, it wouldn't look off at all. I missed it when I was finalizing the entry (I made it in at literally the last minute). It is off, but color isn't the issue. If I had even a second to fix it and re-enter it, I would have, but I didn't. Thanks for the tip, though. If I run across a situation where the color is too hard to match, I'll give it a try. / there's a contrast issue as well, but I consider those two things the same...anyway, I've long since dumped the PSP file ( I don't use photoshop...so, I start 32 bits behind everyone when I enter these things), and I've long since ceased to care about this entry. I start up trouble to see if someone will be cool like you and talk to me instead of getting all huffy about stuff. Thanks for being cool. / What do you use. My husband got Gimp recently and thinks it is great. I have worked in various media over the years from pencil to oils long before digital programmes were invented. I have done a lot of portraits, so hopefully have learned a bit. Colours and tones apply whatever you use. As you rightly said much of the success of a chop lies in the image choice.
