This has got alot. I'm a big fan of this perfectly matched work and it's pleasing elements. Congrats on the Gold, DDog.
Super work dd. I like how the shading makes them look like they are going under the trees. Super filter work to blend. My Photoshop has issues with some paint filters so I did the best I could with limited time. Grats on Gold.
Have I got a story for you PS. I did another version of these cars as they were and they were a painting, unfortunately they weren’t impressionistic and as much as I liked it better, they just didn’t match. I wasn’t going to submit it for that reason. At the last minute I remembered that I had an old correl painter program in my old 2010 13” MacBook. The new problem was that MacBook has no battery, only plug in and half the screen doesn’t light up so I had to put my coat over my head and computer so I could barely see the dark screen side to use corel. I used impressionist brush but it obviously came out barely useable. In the end I wasn’t going to submit this one either and here it won. I AM SHOCKED.. Thanks everyone, shocked.
Excellent dd. Love the back story thanks for sharing. I've occasionally entered two and one spent 10 hours on and another 30 minutes and the later makes the podium. You just never know.
Deaddog, glad you submitted it, it's Fantastic, glad it won...

Nice idea. You need to soften (Gaussian blur) the new additions though, to match the original.

Very nice, but her face needs to be softened a little,
Yes, eyes, nose, eyebrows and mouth need to be softened
Softened is a bit of a misnomer. Sample texturing is I think the better terms. Still, this is a legitimate impressionistic style by throwing all the finer definition into the focal subject and less on supporting elements. Nice one HH

Pretty cool, though you sort of turned Renoir art into Botero art
Yes. Botero influenced with a touch of Dowling, Newsey. You are observant hahahaha. I get the idea that Renoir had a taste for the Rubenesque ladies and sort of had fun with that idea, while putting a silly face on her. I am honored to capture gold with so many excellent renditions in the mix. I'm pretty impressed. Thanks Newsey, Elegary, Gummy, Andrew, and Luciano.

Nice characters, but what's with the blurry shading around them (it doesn't match how shadows would fall).

February 25 is the birthday of a French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir who was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. He experienced his initial acclaim when six of his paintings hung in the first Impressionist exhibition in 1874. Renoir's paintings are notable for their vibrant light and saturated color, most often focusing on people in intimate and candid compositions. The female nude was one of his primary subjects. In characteristic Impressionist style, Renoir suggested the details of a scene through freely brushed touches of color, so that his figures softly fuse with one another and their surroundings. To view Renoir's artwork Click This Link Photoshop any painting by Pierre-Auguste Renoir to include some modern elements in it. Think of product placements, celebrities, modern architecture, and even sci-fi features, etc. and show how Renoir paintings would be different if he painted them in the modern days. Some fine examples are "Beach Closed" by LunaC, and "Amy the Bohemian" by Denlig. Please Note: Limit 3 Entries Per Player. February 25 is the birthday of a French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir who was a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. Renoir is considered a celebrator of beauty, and especially feminine sensuality, and it has been said that "Renoir is the final representative of a tradition which runs directly from Rubens to Watteau". Renoir was born in a working-class French family. During his childhood years, Pierre-Auguste worked in a porcelain factory where his drawing talents led to him being chosen to paint designs on fine china. He then started painting hangings for overseas missionaries and decorations on fans before finally deciding to enroll in art school.
