Alton Kelley, one of the founding fathers of psychedelic art, died this Sunday at the age of 67.
Alton Kelley was most known for creating psychedelic posters and psychedelic album covers for rockers in the 60s, including such big names as the Grateful Dead (famous "skull and roses" poster), Journey, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, and
Steve Miller. Kelley's works greatly influenced the leading artists of Psychedelic Art movement such as Rick Griffin, who moved to San Francisco after seeing Kelly's psychedelic posters and soon started producing his own.

Denver Art Museum goes psychedelic this spring.
The groovy exhibition "The Psychedelic Experience: Rock Posters from the San Francisco Bay Area, 1965-71."
will last through July 19. Visitors can see over 300 psychedelic rock posters for the famous rock bands from the 60s and 70s - including the psychedelic posters for such iconic bands as The Doors, Jefferson Airplane and The Grateful Dead.
Besides seeing posters, visitors can take "The Psychedelic Side Trip," - an experiential area with hands-on activities including a wall of sound and a liquid light-show creation station.

 Absolut Psychedelic funny pictures - / Love the idea, good submission. Did you try the layout with a white font. Typically these ads us white, with some exceptions. This one may or may not look better with white.... don't know. / I'd say the black title goes with the lava lamp bottle labeling and border. The black color also forms a upward diagonal (implying uplift) from the title, to smiley, to the yin-yang. / Congrats, love the lamp, was the glass done with a filter. / No, the glass is actually lava lamp glass that I made transparent. .
