Thank you again for this and congratulations on the win. ------------------ And for those not in the know, Doxieone asked me by private message if I had guessed who the author of this chop was and I answered that "I first thought it was a chop by Hitspinner but that it might as well be one by Burntfaery". I was not sure at that time and added: "I would say the latter, because Hitspinner would have modified my face more (making it "cartoonish"), I suppose. But when I read Hitspinner's reply to my first comment on his chop, I definitely knew that it was actually my first thought which was right. And since, my short lived hesitation has been the source of great fun. / awesome chops and a twofer, with comedy act to follow, amazing grace, let's all sing together. / I cannot see my comments on the other chops again. HIT.. very cool lighting on this. / Bows deep. So the comment glitch is with the page auto update... ahhh so,,, thanks Paul. I was getting very frustrated having to rewrite so many comments in the last few contests. It takes quite a bit of time to think of what to say and then I get all long winded too. Hahahahah Xaos, The lighting was an expiriment just to try to keep the "Warm" ambience a bit on the radical end of the spectrum from orange and burnt tones to the hot yellow. The original source was Keith Richards a new addition to the Pirates of the Caribbean sagas and the source was veryred- yellow. It really snapped and got me to thinking that maybe it was possible to hold the yellow tones and still get them to work with less red and yellow ambient environment. After a whole lot of tweaking it finally leveled out to what you see. I guess this chop went through at least 70-80 color adjusting stages before it mellowed out . It was crazy / Congratulations on the superb top 2. A true work of pirate art, matey. You get the gold and the silver- a real treat for a pirate. / TY Newsie.  Captain Bill Gates Pirate with Steve Jobs funny pictures - I was a bit ill this weekend and did not get it into "Pirates" in time. / Look at you Hitspinner Gold and Silver Congrats / Seeeee there is a God. This is the first time I ever entered two chops and both made top spots. And pirate themes too. We must like pirates. Paul's Tribute was actually coincidental and had been in the works long before the pirate theme contest came up. I did this one for the pirate contest but missed the deadline. So both got thrown into freak as I sort of had no place to put them. I only mention this because I get a little miffed when I see a chopper grab two of only 4 trophies. Of course I appreciate the great work and entertainment but... ya'll know what I mean. Anyway, thanks for the votes folks and making a miracle twofer with so many incredible chops in this one. / CONGRATS...1 and 2 places, beautiful work / Congratulations once again, Hitspinner. Funkwood and I don't really have any secrets. We're both pretty much traditional choppers that rely on very few tricks and lean very heavy on compositional elements. He's got a few favorite filters that he has made publicly known and he'll tell you straight up if you ask I bet. Nope, no secrets, we are all in this to learn and get better so none of it should be locked away in an ivory tower only for the elite to use. my secret is no secret really, but I use a little program called ARCSoft Photoexpression for the mule work; cut and paste and contrasting and resizing because it's fast and the contrast filters and color adjustments are simple enough for a moron like me to use. When the rough chop is built it goes into CS3 for the real surgery. Hah, Paul, the toucan came about as a mistake when I accidentally dragged the liquify tool through it's beak. It distorted and I went "hey, what if...." Some of the best discoveries in PS are pure accidents or found by just messing around. / Beautiful work. I liked this one even better that your golden chop, Hits, or at least just as much. |
