He had front row seats at both events, as well as at WrestleMania VII in 1991 from the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena and WrestleMania XX in 2004 from Madison Square Garden. An Inconvenient Truth, the former veep's documentary about the potentially devastating effects of climate change, is among 15 films making the shortlist for the Best Documentary Feature category for the upcoming Academy Awards, Oscar organizers announced Thursday. ] I don't remember much about Al Gore except he claimed to have invented the internet once. He also has helped Adobe out by pushing for the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, which paved the way for the adoption of electronic document standards and the ascension of PDF. Funny News in Pictures Nov 6 - Nov 12, 2006 pictures - Create images of something that happened in the news from November 6, 2006 through November 12, 2006. [ An example of a recent news story that could be used can be found here: Model and actress Denise Richards, best known for her body, had a rage fit on the Canadian film set of Blonde and Blonder and threw two laptops over a balcony injuring two elderly ladies. Apparently she at some point spotted two paparazzi working in a balcony and rushed to confront them. In the fight Richards became violent and threw two laptops off the balcony, of which one was owned by the paparazzi. Unfortunately, they landed on two elderly ladies, aged 80 and 90. The younger was in a wheelchair. ] This contradicts everything I know about Denise (except her name). I always figured she was a sweet little Hollywood actress. Now I read she is attacking little old ladies with hardware. Last April she divorced Charlie Sheen claiming his behavior was 'erratic'. Well, Denise, throwing laptops at old ladies is certainly not normal behavior. May I suggest some anger management classes? A visit to ophthalmologist may be due, as well as buying a book "21 Main Differences Between Old Ladies and Paparazzi." Oh yeah, and maybe you should try to smooth this incident over by donating a few hundred crutches to the nearest retirement village. That way, next time you throw laptops at them, the old ladies can run away faster. In the Author's Comments, it is mandantory to link to a news story. Funny News in Pictures Oct 30 - Nov 5, 2006 pictures - Create images of something that happened in the news from October 30, 2006 through November 5, 2006. An example of a recent news story that could be used can be found here: Researchers believe wine drinking leads to a longer life according to this news article. I read that article and I have a few problems with it. First of all, it seems these really smart lab guys did their research on worms and very fat mice. I for one believe worms and fat mice live long enough as it is. The only time I want to see a worm live longer is when he's on my fishing hook. And as for fat mice, well, I don't want to fatten up any of them around my house. I think these researchers could use their time and money more wisely by trying to find a way to improve the taste of spinach or lessen the effects of drinking too much wine. There is a silver lining to all of this research though. Now big fat winos will have the luxury of living longer. Mel Gibson will definitely live forever. Funny News In Pictures October 23 - October 30 pictures - Create images of something that happened in the news from October 23, 2006 through October 30, 2006. An example of a recent news story that could be used can be this one: A high school principal has decreed that Captain Underpants has no place in an institution of learning. Three 17-year-old girls were told to leave Long Beach High School on Wednesday after they showed up on Superhero Day costumed as the subject of the best-selling children's books, Captain Underpants. The girls depicted this superhero - who has battled, among other things, talking toilets and the infamous Professor Poopypants - by wearing beige leotards and nude stockings under white briefs and red capes. What is this world coming to? Now high school girls can't wear underpants in school? Where was this principal when I was in school? I guess the boys can't go as Commandoman either. This is just put here for your amusement. By the way, I am now known as Squeezit Bubblebuns. In the Author's Comments, it is extremely important to link to a news story. Funny News in Pictures October 16 - October 22 pictures - Create images of something that happened in the news from October 16, 2006 through October 22, 2006. An example of a recent news story that could be used can be found here: October 16, 1758 hardly seems like a current event but this date marks the birthday of the great man of dictionary fame, Noah Webster. Where would we be today without this great American. Mr. Noah Webster is probably the only American ever born who knew when to use 'who' and 'whom'. He was so confident in his ability to know the difference he wrote a book about it. As good as he was, he was terrible at identifying animals. I have an old "Webster's Dictionary" that was printed in 1894. Poor old Noah couldn't tell the difference between a chimpanzee and an orangutan. In fact he thought an orangutan was an orang-outang. This is the man that also included etymologies in his book. For those of you who/whom don't own one of his books, etymology is the history of a word. I guess history changes from time to time. I still don't know when to use who or whom. I looked it up in his book. It says whom is the object of who. That's a good question. Who is the object of what? I'd say Noah Webster was more confused than I am at this moment. In the Author's Comments, it is extremely important to link to a news story. Funny News in Pictures October 9 - October 15 pictures - Create images of something that happened in the news from October 9, 2006 through October 15, 2006. An example of a recent news story that could be used can be found here: It seems Jennifer Wilbanks, "The Runaway Bride", is suing her former fiance for defrauding her of her share of the proceeds from a book deal about their adventure. I don't know about you but I am a little confused by this whole story. First she argues over a vacuum cleaner and a ladder that her fiance took from their wedding gifts. I mean, what kind of person gives a ladder for a wedding gift? I can just hear the bride when she opened the giftwrapped ladder. "Oh thank you Aunt Pauline. This ladder will really come in handy when I want to crawl out a second story window." Now she is suing her fiance for buying a house. She seems to think she should get half of the house. I may be mistaken but this sounds more like a divorce settlement than the settlement of a wedding that never happened. My guess is she will next be suing some poor child in New Mexico for not giving her part of his lunch money. What I really think she should ask for in a lawsuit is a 5 gallon gas can and a new lawn mower and weedwhacker. She has a lot of community service to do mowing the court house lawn. Funny News in Pictures October 2 - October 8 pictures - Create images of something that happened in the news from October 2, 2006 through October 8, 2006. An example of a recent news story that could be used can be found here: It seems Paris and former Miss USA and ex girlfriend of Oscar de la Hoya, Shanna Moakler, mixed it up in a Los Angeles nightclub earlier this week. Then, Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos, shoved Shanna down some stairs. That Paris is beginning to be a regular at the Los Angeles police station. A few weeks ago they hauled her sorry ass in on drunk driving charges and now she is back again for fighting. I guess all that cow milking she did on "The Simple Life" has lead her to believe she is a tough chick. Who knows what's next for pretty little Paris. I'm not making any of this stuff up either. This is better than any episode of "The Simple Life". I am just wondering who will get custody of Tinkerbell when they haul Paris off to the bighouse. The L.A. police have a tough job, too. Can you imagine having to take crime scene pictures of those two? I know I can. In the Author's Comments, it is extremely helpful to link to a news story. An example of a recent news story that could be used can be found here: It seems Ford Motor Co. wants to 'shed' 75,000 jobs. I don't know. That seems like an awful lot of jobs to do in one shed. I have been to Detroit and there aren't really that many places left a shed of this size could even be built. It is no wonder the U.S. automakers are losing jobs to overseas competitors. They are sure to have much more undeveloped land where a shed of this size could be built. The Gobi Desert alone has an area of 1,300,000 sq. km.
