An example of a recent news story that could be used can be found here: [ He might have missed out on the White House, but Al Gore is in contention for an even bigger prize: an Oscar. An Inconvenient Truth, the former veep's documentary about the potentially devastating effects of climate change, is among 15 films making the shortlist for the Best Documentary Feature category for the upcoming Academy Awards, Oscar organizers announced Thursday. ] I don't remember much about Al Gore except he claimed to have invented the internet once. He also has helped Adobe out by pushing for the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, which paved the way for the adoption of electronic document standards and the ascension of PDF. Well, Al may never get a Nobel Prize for his labors but he just might land an Oscar. In the Author's Comments, it is mandatory to link to a news story. | Funny News in Pictures Nov 6 - Nov 12, 2006 pictures - Create images of something that happened in the news from November 6, 2006 through November 12, 2006. [ An example of a recent news story that could be used can be found here: Model and actress Denise Richards, best known for her body, had a rage fit on the Canadian film set of Blonde and Blonder and threw two laptops over a balcony injuring two elderly ladies. Apparently she at some point spotted two paparazzi working in a balcony and rushed to confront them. In the fight Richards became violent and threw two laptops off the balcony, of which one was owned by the paparazzi. Unfortunately, they landed on two elderly ladies, aged 80 and 90. The younger was in a wheelchair. ] This contradicts everything I know about Denise (except her name). I always figured she was a sweet little Hollywood actress. Now I read she is attacking little old ladies with hardware. Last April she divorced Charlie Sheen claiming his behavior was 'erratic'. Well, Denise, throwing laptops at old ladies is certainly not normal behavior. May I suggest some anger management classes? A visit to ophthalmologist may be due, as well as buying a book "21 Main Differences Between Old Ladies and Paparazzi." Oh yeah, and maybe you should try to smooth this incident over by donating a few hundred crutches to the nearest retirement village. That way, next time you throw laptops at them, the old ladies can run away faster. In the Author's Comments, it is mandantory to link to a news story. An example of a recent news story that could be used can be found here: Researchers believe wine drinking leads to a longer life according to this news article. I read that article and I have a few problems with it. First of all, it seems these really smart lab guys did their research on worms and very fat mice. I for one believe worms and fat mice live long enough as it is. The only time I want to see a worm live longer is when he's on my fishing hook. And as for fat mice, well, I don't want to fatten up any of them around my house. I think these researchers could use their time and money more wisely by trying to find a way to improve the taste of spinach or lessen the effects of drinking too much wine. There is a silver lining to all of this research though. Now big fat winos will have the luxury of living longer. Mel Gibson will definitely live forever.
