This Friday is the 534th birthday of one of the greatest artists of all times, Michelangelo Buonarroti. The second of five brothers, Michelangelo became a living legend of his time after he painted the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel at the age of 33. Originally he did not want to accept the job as he always considered himself a sculptor, not a painter. However after Vatican used their ties to persuade Michelangelo through his relatives, he finally agreed to paint the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel but only on the condition that he will do all the composition as he wishes without any interference from Vatican. Three decades later Michelangelo was commissioned to paint the massive altar wall fresco - The Last Judgment - at the very same Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo dedicated his whole long life to art, God, and people. He once said to his apprentice: "However rich I may have been, I have always lived like a poor man."
Show how Michelangelo's masterpieces would change if he created them these days. E.g. show how Michelandelo would make a living nowadays by designing advertising for modern products and companies, include modern elements in his art works, etc.

| Funny Dali Modernized pictures -
This Tuesday is the 106th birthday of a Spanish surrealist painter Salvador Dali. While his painting skills were influenced by the masters of Renaissance, Dali used a lot of hidden symbolism in his art. For example, in Dali's most famous painting - The Persistence of Memory - the soft watches symbolize Einstein's theory that time is relative and not fixed.
To celebrate the birthday of the world's most famous surrealist painter Salvador Dali, show what his art would be like if he created it these days. What modern elements would be included in Dali's paintings? Would he be doing advertisements, distorting celebrities, or maybe or even creating posters for movies?

He then started painting hangings for overseas missionaries and decorations on fans before finally deciding to enroll in art school.

| Funny Van Gogh Modernized pictures -
The 158th birthday of one of the most famous artists of all time, Vincent Willem van Gogh, occurred last Wednesday. The Dutch Post-Impressionist artist who produced some of the world's priciest masterpieces spent his life as not a wealthy man. After trying careers as an art dealer, teacher, and even a preacher, Van Gogh became a self-taught artist at the age of 27 and produced over 2000 paintings in his life time, the most famous ones in his last two years.
Ironically his art was unpopular at the time; Van Gogh hardly sold any of his works during his own life, and lived as a "starving artist" relying on a modest monthly income from his brother Theo.
To celebrate the 158th birthday of Vincent van Gogh, show how his art would be different if he created it nowadays. Some examples are - modernize his paintings by including modern objects, sceneries, or people; commercialize his works by turning them into advertisements for modern products; turn them into billboards, etc. These are just some ideas.
