 Future Map funny pictures - This is just some fun i was having with a blank map.. This is by no means a prediction just a what if in the not so distant future Politcal Unions became popular... / Reminds me of this map, but yours is not as ludicrous, fortunately, even if it contains several aberrations and gross simplifications. But you have guts to post this kind of pictures that has the potential to make angry several countries in the world (yes, despite your initial comment). I know that it was not your intention, but borders and political unions are very sensitive matters and (in my humble opinion) the controversial concept in your picture might make people not considering its aesthetic value... / Yah i only really realized that it might caus controversy after i posted it. But if that is the case and its very controversial why are people so fearful of being united with ones friends or enemies. And i say unions not invasions this "world" would have been built with peace. But again i will say it was NOT my intention to step on any toes. Im just a lover of maps no mater what is on them. Thank you for your input though Paul. / I've understood your intention, alas, you have chosen to represent certain countries (or unions) and not others, and some people might think that you belittle those that are not featuring here or that are simply associated with one of their neighbors (and it's probably not much appreciated when the said neighbor is an enemy). I'm not a Muslim, but I suppose that some Muslims may be offended when the country with the largest Muslim population in the world is not considered as important enough to have its flag represented on this map (and its only one among numerous aberrations that one can spot on this map). I like beautiful maps too, but there's not enough utopia (or there is too much reality yet) in this one - again, in my humble opinion - if you are dreaming of a "future world built with peace". Again, I've understood your intention and just hope others won't be offended by some of your choices here. / All very good points.. should teach me to be more politically correct in the future ... but for now this is up and hopefully i haven't offended to many people. / Just put the world bank logo on everything and problem settled |
