This Saturday is a Flag Day in the United States. Flag days also
exist in other countries, some of them are observed quite
interestingly. In UK, Hong Kong, and India, a Flag Day is a day when
charity organizations raise funds on the streets and door-to-door;
donors are then given small flags showing that they have donated to
charity.
Take national flag of any country and paint it on any person, object
or animal. Some examples are: Chinese bugs with Chinese flag
paint-jobs, celebrities showing their colors with flag paint-jobs on
their faces, famous buildings, movies and paintings getting a flag
paint-jobs, etc. Here's another great example.

| Funny Flag of Canada Day pictures -
National Flag of Canada Day is observed annually on February 15th, commemorating the inauguration of the national flag of Canada by Governor General Georges Vanier on that date in 1965. The day, officially called National Flag of Canada Day, is marked by flying the flag, occasional public ceremonies (especially in 2005, its 40th anniversary), and educational programs in schools. This year National Flag of Canada Day is special, as Canada is proudly hosting the 2010 Winter Olympics.
To mark National Flag of Canada Day, and pay a tribute to the host country of 2010 Olympics, "Canadianize" objects, famous paintings, animals, or people - include the Canadian Flag or Canadian Leaf (either explicitly, with paint jobs, or give anything the shape of the Canadian Leaf).

Flag Day was set aside more than 50 years ago by President Harry Truman. He asked the US congress to designate June 14th of each year as Flag Day to honor the Stars and Stripes.
To celebrate Flag Day at Freaking News, let's do some US flag paint jobs, arrange some objects to form the US flag, or integrate US flag into anything.

 Flag Rose funny pictures - / Nice work. Maybe you should lower the opacity (or try a different Blend Mode) of the flag to get more texture of the flower. / I AGREE WITH V1nc3nt.But still nice idea. / You think like I do. But when I lowered the opacity on the stripes, it seemed too much like an overlayed object. I used the pen tool to draw out the stripes by hand, and then Hue/Sat tool to remove the Red and then upped the Contrast to add white color and still keep "some" part of the rose's surface texture. If you look toward the center you can see a little of the texture, but as you go out, the camera blur on the source image made realism a bit harder to acheive. Thanks for the critiqe, by the way. I want to push myself this summer. / I usually use Replace color for that. Look at the shoes I used for my entry. I changed from red to White in several steps, picking just a small range of the reds at the time. I like the Replace Color because it really preserves the textures.
