| Funny Elephant Paint-Jobs pictures - [ Sunday marked the end of the last-week's anti-poverty "Barely Legal" art exhibit in LA, which included a live elephant with a floral paint job. Even though the paint was composed of non-toxic bio-ingredients similar to the ones used in movie makeup, animal activists called it an 'animal abuse' and demanded that the elephant is cleaned immediately and sent back to the owner. They kept pressuring the exhibit organizers, interfered with the exhibit, and called the LA police until the exhibit organizers finally agreed to wash off the paint from the elephant. ] Emotions aside, the female elephant was in many many movies, and is used to lots of makeup. And I'm not talking about Kirstie Alley here folks - animal activists protected her already. Exhibit organizers merely followed the old saying:
Give an elephant a good paint job - and get lots of friends.
Cross an elephant with a skunk - and get very few friends.
And I'm sure many guests praise them for doing the first part but not the second.
Last but not least, if someone should be happy about this elephant paint job, it's gotta be the Republicans. Because, by golly, in response Democrats will exhibit a painted ass (think Jimmy Carter).
I this contest you are asked to photoshop paint jobs on elephants. Paint jobs can be commercially oriented, or just any art paint jobs you like.

| Funny Donkeys or Elephants? pictures -
The depiction of donkey and elephant as the symbols of the Democratic and Republican parties in America goes back as far as 180 years. It all started with Andrew Jackson who was running for President in 1828. His opponents labeled him a "jackass", as a twist of his last name "Jackson", and also for his populist ideas and his slogan "Let the people rule". Jackson enjoyed this association and made jackass his symbol in the presidential campaign, which he successfully won. Later, cartoonist Thomas Nast, based on Jackson's story, popularized the donkey as the unofficial symbol of the Democratic Party. It was an instant hit with the American public, and it did not take long before the donkey became the party's official symbol. Republican's elephant was also the creation of Thomas Nast. In one of his cartoons he depicted a donkey in lion's skin scaring away all the animals at the zoo. One of the animals was an elephant labeled "The Republican Vote". The cartoon got so popular that the elephant instantly became the Republican's unofficial symbol (and later the official one).

| Funny Celebrity Elephants pictures -
Latest study showed that elephants are afraid of bees and respond even to the sound of bees by running away. This funding has valuable application for the protection and conservation of African elephants, who sometimes damage farm crops and trees. Installing beehives next to African farms will allow farmers to avoid shooting problematic elephants, while at the same time generating additional revenue through the sales of honey.
Until the study was published, it was considered that elephants are resistant to bee stings due to the thickness of elephant skin, and elephants were thought to have no fear of bees.
Combine elephants and celebrities in one way or another. The simplest way would be just to add an elephant trunk in the place of a celebrity nose. Other elephant elements - tusks, ears, skin - added to a celebrity is a plus. Take a look at this good example.

The election battle
of Democratic donkeys and Republican elephants ended with losses for the donkeys this week. They lost governor seats in Virginia, New Jersey, and could not win the seat from NY Mayor Bloomberg.
That's good news for elephants who may take over the control of the US House, if donkeys don't turn the tide back in the upcoming elections. We, at Freaking News, just could not
stay away from the event, fulfilling our patriotic duties.

| Funny Elephant Animals pictures -
Mammoth No. 59 was discovered at The Mammoth Site of Hot Springs today. This discovery pushes the number of mammoths discovered at Hot Springs to 59 56 Columbian and three Woolly.
The woolly mammoth was an elephantid species and most closely related to today's Asian elephants. Even though mammoths originally lived in a more tropical climate, they migrated to the Arctic where the adopted to colder climate.
Scientists have long been trying to recreate mammoths from the DNA of the frozen mammoths found in the permafrost of the Arctic. The concept is complex and involves genetic engineering and surrogate mother-ship - implanting the woolly mammoth's DNA into an egg cell of the female elephant and then planting the egg into the female elephant's womb where it should develop into an embryo. So far no such attempts have been successful, but scientists are now one step closer to recreating woolly mammoth's blood from the DNA.
Would the chances of bringing the woolly mammoth back to life be higher if we put the mammoth's DNA into the womb of some other animal species? Show us what cross-species between mammoths (or elephants) and other animals would look like. Since elephants and mammoths are very close relatives, we'll accept entries using elephants "as mammoths".
