In view of Edgar's passion for the female dancer and motion, Degas surely would have considered himself to be in paradise among present day dancers. (Original View) is Best Inspiration by Degas: (Tilting Ballerina)

Cool idea. You should shrink the guy a little and adjust the contrast so he better fits in.

Nice job but the Bernie and Omar heads need texture blending to match painting.

Edgar Degas `Unexpectedly return home earlier`
Classic situation "Suddenly husband was back home earlier".

Clever idea but the pasted parts need some blending and there is a line (artifact) running down the middle of your image.

Cool Chop and Concept. But why do Poe's feet appear to be above the tabletop.
Poe has his foot resting on the table top, splat.
I edited my chop silvercanine.Changed the raven altogether,Thanks for the tip
Well done hidden. Everything looks perfect..
Fantastic chop, but it really feels like an optical illusion - he really cant have his feet on the table considering the distance from the chair and the leg positions
I Agree..His leg will appear more real if leaning flat on te table. Anyway excellent chop.
It has an M.C. Escher ting going on with that leg Well done, it looks like it was a lot of fun to do.

Silver congrats, SS. Very creative use of the sources, and perfect fit of Degas for the role.
thanks Paul. thanks newsmaster. I agree. after doing a little research on Degas. I came to the conclusion that the painting artist was as equally much a voyeur. hope he doesn't mind that I've revealed his secret.
Congrats on the Silver Splat, a fascinating merge of "The Graduate" and star Dustin Hoffman, with Degas.
A bit of a trick working with such a poor quality image....I was very pleased with the way it turned out. Thanks UncleChamp

Funny Edgar Degas Art

Edgar Degas Art
This Tuesday is the 177th birthday of one of the most famous French artists - Edgar Degas. He is regarded as one of the founders of Impressionism, even though he more preferred to be called a realist. Degas started painting seriously very early in his life. Obsessed with painting, he turned his room into an artist studio by the age of 18. His father - a wealthy French banker - was originally against Edgar's love for art and wanted him to become a lawyer instead. At the age of 21, Degas dropped out of Law school and went to Italy for three years where he copied the works of Michelangelo, Raphael and Titian. Degas talent flourished under the guidance of his first teacher Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres, whose first advice to Edgar was "draw lines, young man, many lines..." To celebrate the 177th birthday of Edgar Degas, show how his paintings would be different if he created them nowadays - e.g. including modern elements in his works, making them promote and endorse products and services, including celebrities and politicians in his art, hiring Degas to do movie posters, etc.

Funny Edgar Allan Poe

Edgar Allan Poe
This year the whole world is celebrating the 200th birthday of American writer Edgar Allan Poe. Poe was one of the leaders of the American Romanticism and his most brilliant tales were filled with the macabre and mystery. Most Poe fans suggest that if you only want to read one story by Poe, read “Loss of Breath.” My personal favorite of Poe's is "Gold Bug". To celebrate the 200th birthday of Edgar Allan Poe, give anything (movies, paintings, posters) a Poe-inspired theme (from any of his stories), or make an illustration to any of the Poe's stories.
