Nation breaths a collective "DUH." as it ponders what might have been: $14 billion to update those New Orleans levees and sea walls BEFORE vs. maybe $300 billion to fix the damage NOW. Also, many thanks to Vice President Dick Cheney for modeling as one cool Satan (no one knows what Satan really looks like, but Dick seemed the closest fit). And congratulations to Dick's old company, Halliburton, for nabbing some of the heftiest no-bid rebuilding contracts in the wake of Katrina CNN Haliburton story. . The story below the entry is definitely worth reading too. Wonder if you heard about the investigations that were underway BEFORE the hurricane into the corrupt democrat politicians in LA. Why didn't Clinton upgrade the levees. Hurricanes don't happen when a democrat is in office. Oh yea, I almost forgot the democrat's mantra "It's ALL Bush's FAULT." Echotalon, I don't thimk anyone said it was "ALL Bush's fault." What's amazing is that Bush admitted to a mistake at all about anything. Would you care to talk about his role in that fiasco in Iraq now. This is very well-done, with good design aesthetics. Notice I'm not commenting on the message. A minor suggestion: would you please resize your images so someone without a jumbotron monitor can view full without scrolling. Fiasco. It's called spreading democracy, something you liberals used to believe in. We are in Iraq AT their request. Did you like the recent election in Afghanistan. "Libral." Them's fightin' words. Oh, and thanx for the 3 vote. Typical lib, you should check your facts (and spell check) before you make these unfounded comments. For years La. was funded money to use for the levees, but as is the Dem. way they were used for something else (maybe funding looters) You down Cheney's looks, why don't you check out almost any libs looks, such as Teddy, mr. & mrs. Kerry, Dennis Kucinis, Allen Combes, John Dean or just about anyone of them. I thimks you the one needs some fact checkin', heckie. No doubt many of the Dems are scoundrels too (specially down thar in Lusianna), but they ain't the ones in charge now. It was this administration and congress that cut the levee funding most recently (and lotsa other "little guy" funding too, even as they managed to hand out tax cuts to the most wealthy and tax breaks to the big corps). And who said anything about Dick's looks (I thimk he's a perfectly fine lookin' man for his age and girth). No, the Cheney-as-Satan image is like a whole "persona" kinda thing. Spell checker. What's that. raygregory, spell checker is like fact checker, something you don't seem to be familiar with. As for tax cuts, if you had a job, unlike many libs, that just want the government to take care of them, you would have received a tax cut. You pay taxes you got a cut. How many times is the gov. supposed to fund a project. So just sit back and blame someelse. Isn't there an old saying that goes something about helping those that help themselves. The only ones that you condone that helped themselves were the looters (who were probably also libs) , me thinks the "ladies" doth protest too much. p.s. Echotalon - voting 3 on a technically sound photoshop due to politics stinks to high heaven of poor sportmanship. Perhaps it's time you brush up on the voting guidlines. heckie, I don't know what exactly else your idea of a "liberal" entails (besides unemployment), but did you realize most U.S. tax dollars come from the so-called blue states and go to the red states. raygregory, evidently you don't know a lot of things. Have you ever seen a map of the sections of the blue states where they are liberal. You have places like Detroit, Philly, Chicago and such places with large populations and plenty of liberals that don't work. The working pepole pay taxes and the non workers are kinda like the looters- take what you want and have someone else pay for it.
