Thanks to a gift from Clinton... In September 1999, Clinton signed legislation to raise the president's annual compensation from $200,000--its level since 1969--to $400,000. It was a gift to future presidents that Clinton couldn't benefit from (unless Hillary gets elected). By the way, the president's salary has not been $100,000 dollars since the presidential term starting in 1964. / The only problem with this is that if Kerry gets elected, the amount on check doubles, and there's no "Stop Payment" option. / too bad we can't stop payment on all the souls committed to heaven over bush's deceptions, lies, to keep the money flowing into self-serving family and special interests. / Ahhh, to dream...Go straight to jail. You see unfortunately there are many people ignorant of many things in American government.. salary is just one of them. There are some Americans that do not know the President's salary... much less some of those that are in another country and might not be completely familiar with American Politics. I made my comment.. in case you had made such an error.. and would want to correct it. As this is a blind entry, I did not know who you were to contact you privately by email. I was trying to be helpful. Believe me, I won't make that mistake again. Had you changed your entry.. or emailed me and explained.. I would have deleted my comments.
