This Friday, August 5, is International Beer Day, a celebration of beer, fellowship, and the good people who facilitate beer's transformation from a humble grain to a glorious libation. International Beer Day, however, is not just another evening at the bar. Participants are encouraged to give one another the gift of beer by buying each other drinks and to express their gratitude to their favorite brewers, bartenders, and so forth by means of generous tips, thank you notes, or whatever else may be appropriate. In the international spirit of the holiday, it is also suggested that you sample a beer from another culture - the brand you haven't tried before.
To celebrate the upcoming International Beer Day, create new beer brands by editing any existing beer brands, or creating them from scratch.

It's that time of the year again for beer lovers - Oktoberfest has opened past weekend in Germany. The festival will last until October 4th, 2009. However, the Oktoberfest isn't just for Germans anymore. People have flocked to Germany from all parts of the globe to participate in the world's largest annual festival for nearly 200 years. In addition to the two-week celebration in Munich, the Bavarian capital where the tradition began, Oktoberfest is enjoyed in one form or another in cities and towns worldwide. For instance, Cincinnati, Ohio, which claims to hold the "largest authentic Oktoberfest" in the U.S., draws about 500,000 people who consume over a million gallons of beer during the celebration.

Animated comparison of Banderas to Beer Cat Note: Antonio Banderas is synonymous with Puss-n-Boots from the movie Shrek. / Great chop. but he's a bit unrecognizable / Agree with rwpike re resemblance but that aside, the chop is very nicely put together...very clever / You lost me why he doesn't resemble Banderas as a cat. / you got the eyes spot on...Stunning as said before.. / All the added details makes it point to the cat being Banderas.....and it's a wicked brilliant chop.....was just saying that ya wouldn't pick it as banderas by just the face alone.....that's all / Maybe he's too fat, but then again he wouldn't be a beer cat / ....maybe sometimes it's a combo of subtle facial features that ya might not think about initially that "makes" someone look like who they are....like crinkles around the eyes, shape of the nose, eyebrows, hairline, the way they smile...taking just one or two away can take away what makes them...them. Two things though, the beer kegs and cans look lackluster compaired to the man. I would have punched up their color a bit to match him. And the jets of beer dont really look like liquid shooting out. I tried using a waterfall for the jets of beer. / Bracey...I think instead I should've desaturated the guy a bit. I had the cans and keg punched up but it didn't look right. / Assuming that there are 2 kegs, I think I would eliminate the outside keg........ its out of place, you wouldn't see it at this angle, or actually you would see a sliver of it on the right side of his body. If there are 3 kegs then there still needs to be one on his right side and you can leave the back one. / I assumed there were three kegs and it's my opinion you wouldn't see it from this angle. / The beer tube in his mouth made me laugh. / Newsy...you mean you don't have a beer helmet. / Youre going to send the rest of us to the poor house if you keep taking all the trophys...congrats pcrdds. / Thanks, Disasterman.  Leprechaun Beer Time funny pictures - See Large / Thank you. I'm glad you like the color. It is a concern.What I see is it lost half of the vibrance on the upload to FN and is darker. I am hoping it is just the way this computer translates the signal from FN back to this particular PC. This chop has about 35 layers and I notice that my chops with less layers never loose the contrast or darken on upload. Has anyone else noticed this on their's and is there a solution other than pre-lightening prior to upload. / Total freaking hoot here.. I love how the mouse is holding a beer clock and is confused. / There should not be any brightness loss on upload. I compared it with the unchanged original you uploaded, and there's absolutely no loss of brightness. Perhaps when you saved psd file as jpg it changed the brightness in the process, but if you take a look at the jpg which you uploaded to FN, brightness did not change after resizing and adding the FN red stripe. At least I can find no evidence of such change. / Hmmmmm thanks Vlad. It is curious. I am going to upload to PB after the contest then link back and we'll test it out just for curiosity sake. I am pretty sure It has nothing to do with FN software as it has also happened on myspace uploads. It just bugs me that it happens in a second or third generation transfer of hugely multi layered files. It's not a biggie just a frigging mystery and mysteries drive me nuts hahahahah Cheers mate. / delete / There is a difference but not really enough to cry about it. I think the solution is just to brighten 10%. Maybe I'll check the calibration on this monitor too. I think I might have an issue there. I don't think you see what I see to the same degree. I talked to a friend about the darkening prob I have with the really large file chops and he thinks it's caused by a pixel dump when I resize. 3200 kB can't fit into 350 KB so the puter averages the color reduction and something is screwy with that. It made sense but I still think it could be a monitor prob... maybe both because I keep geting a winking in and out from time to time like the screen shrinks a 1/4 inch and then expands back in a fraction of a second. Bloody fosilized junk%$$#$#....... hehe I think I'm going to sell my liver and get a state of the art quad. I might just have enough time to crank out one last mighty and perfect chop before I fall over dead. HA.But with my luck, grasping for the final breath as I load the chop to FN, I'd see a prompt that said, "Server Is Busy, Try Again Later" / Wood congrats, Hits. Nice discussion about the image uploads / congrats hits. I've noticed the brightness loss thing before too, but wasn't sure if it was just my imagination, it's pretty subtle.
