The 4th of July is just around the corner - time for the Independence Day celebrations and fireworks.
To celebrate the 4th of July at Freaking News, take any painting and give it an American theme. Some examples are: incorporating the American Flag (or flag colored clothes) in paintings, putting any American President in paintings, placing an American bald eagle in paintings, setting the US Capitol in paintings, etc.

American Airlines canceled 570 more flights this Friday, bringing its total number of this week's canceled flights to 3,000, and the total number of bumped passengers to over 250,000. The company said it expects to cancel more flights on Saturday and possibly next week. Many fed-up travelers headed for trains and said that it's the worst management they have seen from an airline company in their lifetime. One bumped AA passenger said that it's not a coincidence that AA also stands for "Alcoholics Anonymous".

Days ago American Express asked and received the Fed's approval to become a bank, so that it can use part of the $700 billion bailout amount. Now it wants $3.5 billion out of the $700 billion bailout pie. Amex reasoning for such request is - "we lost a lot of money due to missed credit card payments. Now it's only fair to get part of this money back from taxpayers."
Photoshop anything related to American Express company. Some examples are: showing what other type of company AmEx can become (fast food chain? movie company?, etc.) and what products it will offer (meal cards, stamps, etc.); show creative uses for American Express credit cards if the company goes bust, design a new AmEx company logo or new name, design new credit cards for American Express, photoshop movies sponsored or produced by AmEx. These are just some ideas.

Here's the surprise news. Booted American Idol contestant Sanjaya went
to the White House Correspondents Dinner Saturday where he met President Bush.
In their quick conversation Sanjaya said he felt American audience unfairly decided that
he's not good at what he does and sank him with low ratings. Bush's reply? "I know how you feel, bud."
In this contest you are asked to photoshop anything related American Idol show. Examples may include the future of the contestants from this season, new contestants, changes in the jury or any changes to the show that you see fit - e.g. how American Idol would look if it was held in the past. Even Britney Spears no underwear could have made its way into the show, as long as you make it safe for work.

What I wanted to comment to you about was what effect your picture had. Depressed and proud at the same time, sorry we have come so far that we are depicting farmers in war gear, that it is indeed possible or rather quite accepted to visualize this happening in the US. I realize that our youth from the heartland of America (or rather the heart of America) are going to defend us but to contemplate that mom and pop will have to gear up while still on the farm made me pause. Nice job. |
