Eggs
11 entries - contest ended 10/19/2019

Last Friday was World Egg Day which celebrates and promotes the benefits of eggs. Activities on this day include eating many eggs (remember the scene from "Cool Hand Luke"?), have an egg hunt (who says egg hunts are only at Easter!?), and even having an egg throwing contest (it's a big sport in Great Britain).
To have a belated celebration of World Egg Day at Freaking News, photoshop eggs any way you wish. E.g. find creative use for eggs using them for other objects or as part of other objects. Any types of eggs are acceptable, - chicken eggs, crocodile eggs, dinosaur eggs, alien eggs, etc. Many thanks to jman1a for the themepost.

Columbus Day
12 entries - contest ended 10/16/2019

Monday is Columbus Day, the holiday that celebrates Christopher Columbus making landfall in the Americas on October 12, 1492. He was an Italian-born explorer who set sail in August 1492, bound for Asia with backing from the Spanish monarchs King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella, and instead landed in the Bahamas becoming the first European to explore the Americas since the Vikings set up colonies in Greenland and Newfoundland in the 10th century. It is celebrated in many countries around the world under different names - as "Fiesta Nacional" in Spain, as "Día de la Raza" in most countries of Latin America, and as "Discovery Day" in the Bahamas. Christopher Columbus was of Italian origin, so Columbus Day has grown into a celebration of Italian-American heritage.
To celebrate Columbus Day at Freaking News, photoshop Christopher Columbus any way you wish. Some examples are - show what profession he'd choose if he lived nowadays, what products and and services he'd endorse, etc. Many thanks to LunaC for the themepost.

Mouth Eyes
18 entries - contest ended 10/13/2019

When it comes to horror images, one of the most disturbing depictions of human face is with mouths in the place of eyes - such illustrations are favorite of many horror books.
Photoshop mouths in the place of eyes of any human or animal. Humans can be celebrities, politicians, characters from paintings, or any other people. You can make your entry horror-looking, or make it any other style - e.g. glamor style with pretty women's mouths for eyes. The themepost provides a good example (many thanks to Evirio).

Joker Celebrities
10 entries - contest ended 10/10/2019

American filmmaker, Todd Phillips’s supervillain origin story "Joker" hit movie theaters this week despite a wave of criticism that it glorifies a killer and could encourage copycat attacks nationwide. The film, based on DC Comics characters, starring Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker, has sparked controversy over its violent portrayal of the man who would become known as one of Gotham City’s most twisted villains. Set in 1981, the film follows Arthur Fleck, a mentally ill failed stand-up comedian who turns to a life of crime and chaos.
Photoshop celebrity/politician faces as Joaquin Phoenix's "Joker" character. Please remember to add the celebrity/politician's name in the title or comment box. Many thanks to johnx1 for the themepost.

An experiment to reduce the mosquito population in Brazil through the release of half a million genetically modified OX513A mosquitoes has failed miserably and may have even created a genetic hybrid super species. The mosquitoes were supposed to contain a dominant lethal gene that would render the first generation of future offspring infertile (while also marking them fluorescent green). The claim was that genes from the released strain would not get into the general population because offspring would die, but the prediction was wrong, very wrong. Anywhere from 10 to 60 percent of the mosquitoes analyzed featured genomes tainted by OX513A. Some genetically-modified mosquitoes even showed signs of “hybrid vigor” in which the artificially-introduced genetic diversity actually made the mosquitoes bigger, stronger and more resilient, with increased resistance to insecticides. Many thanks to Registered for the themepost.
Photoshop genetically mutated insects any way you like. Some examples are: photo hoaxes of mutated insects, human insects, mutated insects in paintings, etc. For more on the contest story Click Here.

Picasso Celebrities

October 25, 2019 is the 138th birthday of Pablo Picasso - one of the leading artists in history - most famous for co-founding the Cubist movement. Picasso was a big fan of distortion of reality when it came to portraits. He was often told by people whose portraits he painted that they showed little resemblance to the original. Picasso would always reply "Just wait, in 10 years there will be more resemblance".
Photoshop celebrities and politicians the way Pablo Picasso would depict them if he used the power of photoshop to create his works, rather than paint and brushes. Please use celebrity photos as source images, rather than paintings. Please don't forget to include celebrity names in your entries. Many thanks to AZRainman for the themepost.
