Winona Ryder
Contest Directions: When Johnny Depp tattooed "Winona Forever" on his arm, how were we to know that it would end up as "Wino Forever"? Winona Ryder went through a series of stages in her Hollywood life from an Academy award nominee to a notorious shoplifter. Throughout the ups and downs, her sense of style has remained supercool: minimalistic darkness with a touch of goth. Winona turns 40 this Saturday, appropriately close to Halloween. Happy (upcoming) 40th Birthday, Winona!
To mark the 40th birthday of Winona Ryder, photoshop her any way you wish.

This contest is fueled by the following news: Winona Ryder (birth name - Winona Laura Horowitz, October 29, 1971) is an American actress, double Academy award nominee, and a winner of the "Golden Globe" award in 1993. Childhood: Winona Laura Horowitz was born on October 29, 1971 in Olmsted County, State of Minnesota. She was named after the name of a neighbor city "Winona". The middle name - Laura was added as an honor to the wife of writer Oldous Huxley, who were close friends. The parents of Winona, Cynthia and Michael Horowitz - were descendants of Jewish emigrants from Russia and Romania and were engaged in literary activities. Michael Horowitz was a writer, editor and owned an archive of psychedelic literature. Her mother was also engaged in literary activities and was a Buddhist, who had two children from a previous marriage: a daughter Sunyata and a son Jubal. The Horowitzs edited the book named "Shaman Woman Mainline Lady", which is a collection of experiments with narcotics, fragments of which were written by Louisa May Alcott. An admirer of LSD and "expansions of consciousness" Timothy Leary (her godfather), poets of "beat movement" Allen Ginsberg and Lawrence Ferlinghetti were amongst the family friends. Winona's parents officially got married when Winona Ryder was 12 years old. Later, she had her younger brother Uri Horowitz, named in honor of the Soviet cosmonaut Yury Gagarin. The actual family name of the ancestors of her father was "Tomchin". Since 1978, when Winona Ryder was seven years old, she lived with her family in an agricultural commune called "Rainbow" near the city of Elk in northern California. Along with Winona Ryder's family, seven more families lived in the 1.2 sq km commune and horses grazed in the commune. Since the commune had no electricity and television (although her mother arranged viewing of films in an old stable), Winona was fond of reading. Her favorite book was "The catcher in the rye" by J.D. Salinger. When Winona was 10 years old, her parents relocated to Petaluma city in California. In her first school days, she was bullied by teenagers, who thought she was a boy because of her short hairstyle and angular face. Parents decided that it was better for their daughter to study at home in that year and Winona changed to home schooling. From 1983, the 12 yr old Winona attended acting courses at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. In 1987, Ryder graduated from school in Petaluma with high grades. Personal life: From 1989 to 1993, Winona Ryder was romantically involved with Johnny Depp. Later, Ryder maintained a relationship with Dave Pirner, a member of Soul Asylum and was engaged to Matt Damon. Social activities: In 1993, 12 year old girl Polly Klaas was kidnapped in Winona Ryder's home town of Petaluma. Ryder offered a reward of 200 000 dollars to help in finding the child. However, the kidnapper killed the girl. Lawsuit: On December 12, 2001, Winona Ryder was arrested on charges of stealing from a store in Beverly Hills and was released on bail. During the trial, she was also charged for drug abuse. Ryder was convicted of theft on a large scale and hooliganism, but the charge of unlawful intrusion into the store with criminal intent to commit burglary was overturned. In June 2002, Ryder appeared on the cover of W Magazine in a T-shirt with the inscription "Free Winona". In December 2002, the court handed out a sentence of a heavy fine, 480 hours of community service and compulsory treatment. In 2004, the charges were reclassified from the category of serious felonies to much softer misdemeanors. 2000 - 2009: In 2000, Winona Ryder starred in the melodrama "Autumn in New York" with Richard Gere. The film was criticized and the actor duo, Ryder - Gere were nominated for the "Razzie Award" as "worst screen couple". The horror film "Lost Souls", which was filmed in 1998, was released in 2000. Ryder's brother, Uri appeared in the film. Both the films bombed at the box office. On October 6, 2000, Winona Ryder received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 2002, Ryder starred in the comedy "Mr. Deeds" and once again received a nomination for the "Razzie Award". The film, however, collected more than 170 million USD worldwide at the box office. She also played small parts in the science-fiction movie "S1m0ne" with Al Pacino and in the film "The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things" (2004), directed by Italian Asia Argento. After a long break, Winona Ryder appeared in 2006 in an animated film "A Scanner Darkly" by Richard Linklater, based on a novel by Philip K. Dick. In January 2007, the comedy films of Ryder "The Darwin Awards" and "The Ten" were premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. Jessica Alba and Famke Janssen were her costars in the film "The Ten". The comedy film "Sex and Death 101" was released in the same year. In 2009, Winona Ryder starred in films "Stay Cool" with Hilary Duff and "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee" with Keanu Reeves. Ryder also played the cameo role of Amanda Grayson, Spock's mother in the film "Star Trek" (2009), which was directed by Jeffrey Abrams.
