very funny entry ... drop shadow on the picture detracts from the newspaper realism though, not sure why it's there.

It is funny and looks great. I agree with you Freak on the detractness of the drop shadow though. I think a black frame around the William Hung album, making it look more like an article about the album, would be a great extra touch here. It is done well, imo.
