| Retired Four Star General Wesley Clark, who has been fighting for the Democratic presidential nomination, appears ready to call surrender to Senator John Kerry. Clark has spent months trying to win the nomination away from Kerry. A joint appearance has been scheduled for Friday between the two men in Madison, Wisconsin. It is anticipated that Clark will endorse Kerry at that time. Kerry has become the runaway front runner in the race for the Democratic nomination. Kerry will still face John Edwards and Howard Dean in the Wisconsin primary election which is slated for Tuesday. 72 delegates are at stake in the primary vote. Kerry is the favored candidate according to recent polls. Clark dropped out of the race for the Democratic nod on Wednesday after finishing third in a couple of primary contests.
