From ancient traditions came to us of wedding rings, a coverlet of the bride, candles, wedding gifts, union of hands young couple have come. In Antiquity it had appeared seemingly so Russian custom of showering newly married with grain, hop and money. But what about wedding bread? Who doubted that is our, truly Russian custom? But no it was borrowed from a wedding ceremony of ancient Romans. But they did not have this type of bread; their bread was made of salty water and honey.
Before a wedding, young men should receive blessing of their parents. In most western and eastern countries, parents were esteemed, and to get married secretly very seldom dared as it was considered illegal. Marriages without blessings of parents were condemned by country community, relatives, and were considered, that such marriages would not an end well.
