This past Sunday was the 105th birthday of John Dillinger - America's most famous bank robber. Dillinger was considered a dangerous criminal whom police could not catch for years, just like Bonnie and Clyde and Ma Barker. Despite his criminal actions, Dillinger was idolized by many as a modern-day Robin Hood. Trying to catch the notorious bank robber, police printed more "Wanted" posters for John Dillinger than for any other criminal in US history.
Take any celebrity, politician, or animal and make a "wanted" poster with it. Here's a good example.

For jobless America, criminals of Dillinger or Barrow type, who robbed the banks, that is rich people, were personified as Robin Hoods, even though they did not distribute the stolen money to poor. The aura of romanticism, surrounding Dillinger was nourished by his image: he well-built, flexible and easily jumped through counter in bar, had light walk and elegant gestures and could foppishly cock one’s hat.
