Weeks ago the world hardly knew what "vuvuzela" means, but since the FIFA World Cup started in South Africa we hear vuvuzelas on every TV and radio channel, and the Internet agrees on one thing - vuvuzela is the most hated, most annoying, and the loudest sound-making device ever used by soccer fans. Dozens of thousands of South Africans buy vuvuzelas and "play" them on the World Cup matches so loudly that the players get distracted and can hardly hear the referees' whistles over the sound of vuvuzelas from the tribunes. Professor Mahlo Mokgalong from The University of Limpopo said this about vuvuzelas: "For the people of South Africa, going to a soccer match without vuvuzela is like going to a war without weapons".
No matter how much we love to hate vuvuzela, almost every soccer fan now wants to own one - vuvuzela sales skyrocket so rapidly, the producers are having hard time catching up with the demand.
