| | There is one cop who is on the wrong side of the law. A judge in California has issued an arrest warrant for Victor Edward Willis, who is best known as the Village People's original policeman. He skipped out on a scheduled court hearing. Willis was due in the San Mateo County Superior Court for sentencing in a drug case but failed to appear. Willis, a co-founder of the Village People, wrote and sang the band's biggest hits including "YMCA," "Macha Man" and "In the Navy." The band was made up of a cop, a Native American, a soldier, a construction worker, a cowboy and a biker. The group says it took its inspiration from the icons of different social groups in New York City's Greenwich Village, according to the Village People website. |
