|  In recent years, video screens have appeared all over the place -- from cell phones, to bathrooms, to car headrests, to subway cars -- even in elevators. The next gadget up is a solar power video panel that will be embedded in a tombstone that will play a clip rather like "This is Your Life." Some people might find such a video tasteless, of course. Nonetheless, its inventor -- Sergio Aguirre -- says that is not the case. Rather, he claims his Serenity Panel is all about helping families celebrate the life of someone who has passed on. He notes that nothing will ever replace the gift of life. But, he maintains the Serenity Panel is a step towards making sure a loved one will not be forgotten. His company is called Vidstone LLC. The video headstone concept actually has been around for some years. However, prior ambitions have been laid to rest, as it were. One of the prior entrepreneurs considering a video tombstone gave up for lack of demand and out of his own concern that the invention would not withstand years of harsh weather. |
