| | Former CIA agent Valerie Plame has left her job with the agency. She reached national prominence following her exposure as agent, conduct which led to a criminal investigation of the Bush White House. Neither the CIA itself nor Plame's husband actually would confirm her departure from the agency. However, a couple of people who have known Valerie Plame for some time confirmed she was leaving the agency. She is married to a former U.S. Ambassador and critic of the Bush Administration, Joseph Wilson. Valerie had been working at the CIA headquarters at Landley, Virgnia. In 2003 her agent status was publicly disclosed by conservative columnist Robert Novak. The exposure triggered a probe that resulted in the indictment of the Vice President's chief of staff. Plame served for many years at different posts overseas for the CIA and her employment was classificed prior to her outing. Vincent Cannistraro, a former chief of operations of the CIA, stated that Valerie's career was ended because of a mean political trick. |
