That's justa tad bit below the $27.8 million the first Matrix film earned in its opening weekend seven years ago this month. The new flick is set in the futuristic landscape of totalitarian Britain. "V For Vendetta" tells the story of a mild-mannered young woman named Evey who is rescued from a life-and-death situation by a masked vigilante known only as "V." V ends up igniting a revolution when he blow up two important London landmark. He then takes over the government-controlled airwaves.
