| | UFOlogists can rejoice as France did something no other country has
done before - opened its secret UFO files over the last fifty years.
The archives from French national space agency include over sixteen
hundred of documented sightings with photos, descriptions and even
scanned copies of police reports. All the archive documents are now
published online and will be kept up to date, as the new cases are
reported and documented.
The top French aeronautical engineer said that he is proud that his
country became the word's first to do this important step for mankind.
There has always been a great public interest for UFO sightings, surrounded by
the rumors of government conspiracies and skepticism.
Many cases in the published archives have clearly little scientific
value and are mostly misunderstandings or hoaxes. Examples include
Photos of unidentified Flying Objects which look like household items
thrown in the air. Nonetheless, the archives contain many other cases
which show solid evidence and can not be easily dismissed as hoaxes.
Many cases have not just one, or two witness, but thousands of people
in France who observed the same sighting and made separate photos of
the objects which are consistent with each other. The flying objects
were also documented by the plane pilots and military. Many times
UFOs, as described by pilots, defy the conventional laws of physics.
Before this week, France, like other countries kept all UFO evidence
as classified information accessible only in spacial cases. In
United States such data are still blocked from public and can be
requested only under special circumstances within Freedom of
Information Act. |
