Troy brought in more than $45 million. The movies stars Brad Pitt in the lead role. The movie cost $150 million to make and is an adaptation of Homer's revered epic tale of war. Pitt plays Achilles in the film while Orlando Bloom takes on the role of Paris. Also at theaters this weekend was Van Helsing. Van Helsing brought in just over $20 million and came in at the number two spot as far as box office receipts from the weekend are concerned. Finally, Mean Girls finished third bringing in just over $10 million. Mean Girls was written by Saturday Night Live Star Tina Fey. |
