The biggest tenor superstar and opera singer of the 20th century, Luciano Pavarotti, died Thursday morning in his residence at Modena, Italy. Pavarotti lost a long battle with pancreatic cancer. His passion for opera, charismatic persona, and powerful voice touched the hearts of many people. Pavarotti lived his life doing what he loved the most and
was often called the greatest tenor since Caruso.
In this contest let us pay tribute to Luciano Pavarotti any way you wish. Your entries have to either include Pavarotti in them or make a reference to him. Examples may be including him in paintings, showing him in heaven, etc. Luciano has to be "in good light" in the entries - it is a tribute contest and we are not looking for "bad humor" here.

| | Luciano Pavarotti (Modena, Italy, 12-10-1935 06-09-07) famous Italian
singer and one of
the most known tenors in opera world and in other musical genres.
Known by his telecasted concerts,
press reports and as also one among the "Three tenors", Pavarotti has
been noted with medals for
collecting of money for refugees and the Red Cross.
Performing in opera theatres in all over Europe, beginning of
Pavarotti's career was not so significant.
Every thing was changed when Joan Sutherland invited Pavarotti for a
joint performance in word tour.
By 1977 Pavarotti became famous with his energy and ease of upper
register. His high-pitched C
had become calling card of his whole career.
Luciano Pavarotti entered pop culture after singing in Nessun Dorma in
the opening ceremony of
football World cup in 1990 in Italy. First concert of famous "Three
tenors" took place on the eve of
the tournament's of final match. In that concert Pavarotti sang with
his tenors friends, Placido Domingo
and Jose Carreras. During these concerts Pavarotti brought opera
theatre works to the broader auditorium.
Later Pavarotti performed with popular pop stars. Unlike other singers
who crossed over to the pop
music stream, Pavarotti maintained status of top class maestro in
opera theatre.
Luciano Pavarotti passes away pf pancreatic cancer on 6th September
2007 at home in Modena.
Fare well and funeral of the singer also took place on 8 September
2007 in Modena.
Pavarotti was buried in Montale Rangone near Modena, there lie
Pavarotti's parents
and his still-born child.
Musical career:
Luciano Pavarotti was one of the most popular with audience and
acknowledged by
opera critics of the XX century.
Hundred of thousands of listeners gathered in Pavarotti's solo
concerts.
Audience were so much thrilled of Pavarotti's part that in
Metropolitan Opera in New York,
curtains were had to be lifted 160 times (source). This incident was
recorded in Guinness Book
of World records. 500 thousand listened to Pavarotti in central Park
of New York, which is a record
as well-no other singer gathered such number audience. From 1992
Pavarotti participated in
charity concerts "Pavarotti and friends".
