| | Transformers - is a unique development. Having appeared in 1984 a
series of toys for small children they have grown in to some thing
very big within a score of years. Saga about robots capable of
changing their shapes has come of age and has become fantastically
popular throughout the world. Colorful universe of transformers - it
is first of all history of never ending war between two fractions of
robots which arrived to the Earth from far away Cybertron.
Far away 1984 became the starting point in the universe of
transformers. This was the time when the volcano woke up and
underground tremors started the onboard computer on the space ship of
Cybertronians. This was the year when first toys, first TV Cartoon
series and comics were released. But history of transformers started a
year earlier.
In 1983 famous American toy maker Hasbro met with colleagues from
Japanese company Takara at annual exhibition in New York. Having
balanced all "for" and "against", the companies decided to combine and
improve the popular Takara products "Diaklon" and "Micro Changes" in to
a new series meant for releasing in USA market. The series was named
simply as - Transformers. Scenarios were developed and the characters
of all rolls were written down for new toys. These found their
reflection in the TV Cartoon series "Transformers" and in comics from
Marvel.
Subsequently universe of transformers acquired with multitude
continuations - with new toys and with comics and cartoons. Some were
direct continuation of the original saga and others targeted
alternative reality. In this article we tell about the very first,
original universe which fans call as G1 of as the first Generation
(Generation 1). Other "generations" are shortly described in similarly
named insert.
Transformers - intelligent robots with capability to transform, i.e.
To change its body from one mode to another. Most of transformers in
their main mode resemble human beings - two hands, two legs, one head.
But the alternative mode can be entirely unbelievable - from banal
vehicles and aeroplanes to exotic video cameras and animals.
Apart from classic, First generation transformers, other
interpretations of this universe were released. Second generation was
represented by a new line of toys with redesign of older roles.
Japanese versions followed the American generations. Throwing out the
last, fourth season of the first generation, Japanese continued G1
with the serial Headmasters, following it with Master Force and
Victory.
After the Japanese the relay baton was taken up by Canadians who
released the first transformers serial with 3D graphics. The serial
Beast Wars narrated the history of conflict between Maximal Optimus
Primal and Predacon Megatron who were left on prehistoric earth. Soon it was followed
with Beast Machines and Japanese animation Beast Wars II.
After the history about Maximal and Predacon, Japanese tried to
rethink the first generation from a new angle. In the serial Armada, a
third, neutral fraction made appearance, which could
combine with transformer to increase its power. Last serial,
Cybertron, has not yet been shown in USA completely. |
