A ticket is a document, certifying the right to enter into a paid event or availing paid service - e.g. travel on public transport. Tickets are used for traveling by trains and airplanes etc (a travel document for single-use, simply a “ticket” or a “coupon”; but sometimes a “Season ticket” which is a ticket with permission to do multiple journeys over a time period or on several trips). Tickets are also used for gaining entry into cinema halls, theatres or into stadiums and other paid events. Tickets can be collected. The collection of journey tickets in public transport is called peridromophilia. Examples of tickets: A season ticket (or “card”) is a document, confirming the right of person to travel on any public transport. Season tickets are available in the form of single-use as well as for a specific number of uses or for a certain period. While using single-use tickets, the ticket is marked in a special way or withdrawn so that they can not be used again. Interesting facts: Tickets from the Soviet public transport system have six-digit numbers. According to some arithmetic laws between digits in the number (for example - sum of the first three digits equals to the sum of the second three-digits) are defined as “Lucky Tickets”.
