Long anticipated "The Simpsons Movie" is opening this Friday. Simpsons sitcom fans are expected to be storming the theaters this weekend, but movie critics have been less than favorable in their reviews of the film and say the big-screen debut that comes after 18 TV seasons makes little sense. Yet, the movie is full of good Simpsons humor and will likely to be a boxoffice winner, despite cold critics reviews.
Photoshop Simpsons characters any way you wish. Some examples may include merging The Simpsons and some other movie, showing them in real life situations, magazines, old paintings, or designing the new Simpsons merchandise. Please make emphasis on quality and put a reasonable amount of photoshop work in your entries, rather than simple copy and past job.

| | “The Simpsons” is a lengthy animated sitcom in the history of American television, consisting of 400 episodes in 18 seasons. It debuted on the 17th December 1989 on channel FOX. “Gracie Films” and “20th Century Fox” have produced an animated “The Simpsons” film. Serial will continue at least till 20th season, which will be aired in 2007-2008.
Serial is saturated with satire (including social) show, makes fun of several cliché and stereotypes, in particular – life style of “average statistical American”, distinctive features of world cultures as a whole, celebrities and also even television and channel “FOX”. The serial is bold enough to discuss dangerous topics such as politics and religion, in particular, even topics such as unisex marriages, fight of evolutionists and creation scientists and war in Iraq.
In 1998, magazine “Time” named “The Simpsons” the best television serial of XX century. However, some critics and admirers confirm that, serial “The Simpsons” is losing its social significance and sense of humor after several years of showing. A premier of full-length feature film “The Simpsons Movie” with heroes of serial is contemplated on 27 July 2007 in USA.
Simpson’s Family:
Homer Jay Simpson – Homer is foolish and uneducated. He worked as Safety Inspector at Springfield nuclear power plant. He is an alcoholic (Prefers beer “Duff”) and shows weakness openly for doughnuts.
Marjorie “Marge” Simpson (Bouvier in girlhood) – Wife of Homer. Intelligent, well-meaning and patient but still, she is forced to lead a life of a ordinary housewife. She has huge blue hair, styled into an improbably high beehive, so as to look taller.
Bartholomew Jojo “Bart” Simpson: 10 yr old son of Homer and Marge, eldest child in the family. Loves skateboarding and read comics. He is source of problems for neighbors. As many other characters of show, Bart is also a left-handed person (This is because, even Mr. Matt Groening himself is left-handed).
Lisa Marie Simpson – One-year old daughter of Homer and Marge and is youngest child in the family. She is always in crawlers and with soother in mouth. She herself may change diapers. She precisely fires a gun.
Groening conceived the idea for the Simpsons in the lobby of James L. Brooks's office. Brooks had asked Groening to pitch an idea for a series of animated shorts. At that time, Matt Groening was famous as author of popular comics “Life in Hell” and intended to present as his “Life in Hell” series but did not want to be deprived of publication rights for his life's work. He had to work on new ideas and formulated his version about life of an American family. He named the characters after his own family members and made them look yellow, so as to single them out amongst the others. |
