This contest is fueled by the following news: Thanksgiving is coming just around the bend. The turkeys are getting plumped up ... and Americans are getting ready to do some serious injury to themselves. This happens when people bungle their efforts to deep fat fry their Thanksgiving bird. At least 15 houses were damaged last Thanksgiving as the result of deep fat frying gone awry. Additionally, dozens of cooks ended up in hospital emergency rooms last year. In 2001, the retiring mayor of New York Rudolph W. Giuliani decided to make the film stars work towards the improvement of city. He invited the most well-known actors of Hollywood to take part in an advertising and greetings campaign, to advocate the inflexible spirit of New York and to attract tourists to the New York City which should meet them with special greetings. Woody Allen, Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal took part in annual parade on Thanksgiving Day. Native of New York, Woody Allen gave his greetings to the parade-goers with his ice-skating skills at Rockefeller center and Robert De Niro and Billy Crystal entertained the crown in unusual roles: Bills appeared in the form of turkey and Robert De Niro as a pilgrim. Besides, Robert De Niro gave his greetings by distributing meals for 500 firemen and rescue team, working at the debris of World Trade Center. As it is known, the actor is rather successful restaurateur and owns a big establishment in Manhattan. "Manhattan was always heart, greetings, and soul of city" stated Robert De Niro. "What ever may happen with us, but we shall not allow the terrorists to change this ". Unfortunately, history is rich in cruel paradoxes, one of which, well-known American writer Washington Irving ascertained with bitterness: "Step of civilization left behind the traces, impregnated with blood of natives". But, on that sacred day - they were together, greeting each other at one round table - first colonists and "Last Mohican Indians". What they greeted, spoke about, how well they understood each other and which songs did they sing we can only guess...
