Teen People will no longer be published by Time Inc., that company has announced. The magazine's website will continue in operation at least into the immediate future. Employees were sent a memo on Tuesday advising them that the magazine was to fold. About fifty employees will be effected. Time, Inc. spokesperson Ali Zelenko said that problems with attracting advertisers and dropping circulation led to the decision to stop publication of the brick and mortar world magazine. Young readers appear to be turning more and more often to the Internet and World Wide Web for celebrity news. A number of other magazines geared towards the teen market have stopped publication recently - such as Elle Girl magazine published by Hachette Filipacchi Media. |
