| Technology (From the Greek. techne — art, skill, ability and the Greek. logia — study) is a set of methods and tools for achieving a desired result; a method of transformation of data into a required format.
Technology, in broad sense is the extent of knowledge that can be used for the manufacture of goods and services from economic resources. In a narrow sense, technology is a method of transformation of materials, energy and information into the manufacturing process of products, processing and reprocessing of they materials, the assembly of finished items and quality assurance and management. Technology includes, in itself, methods, ways, operating modes, a sequence of operations and procedures; it is closely connected with used facilities, equipment and tools used by materials.
Modern technologies are based on achievements of scientific and technical progress and focused on product manufacture: material technology creates a material product, information technology (IТ) an informative product. Technology is also a scientific discipline, developing and improving the methods and tools of manufacture. In everyday life, it is accepted to name the description of the production process, manuals for accomplishing the processes, the technological requirements and so forth as technology. Production operations, transportation and reprocessing operations, which are the basis for production processes, are often called technology or the technological process. The technological inspection during the production is also part of technology. Technologists, engineers, designers, programmers and other experts in respective fields are engaged in the development of technology.
Technology – according to United Nations methodology is technology in pure form, covering the methods and techniques of the production of goods and services (dissembled technology); - or embodied technology, covering cars, construction equipment, entire industrial systems and products with high technical-economic parameters (embodied technology).
High-end technology:
The latest and progressive technologies of the present day belong to high technologies (hi-tech). The transition to the use of high technologies and respective techniques is the major link of the scientific and technical revolution at the present level. Most high-end branches of industries belong to high technologies: microelectronics, computers, robotics, atomic power engineering, aeronautical engineering, space technology and microbiological industry.
Information technology:
Information technologies (IТ) is a wide class of disciplines and spheres of activity, concerning to management technologies and information processing. Basically, computer technologies are understood as under information technology. In particular, IT deals with the usage of computers and software for storing, conversion, protection, processing, transmission and obtaining information. For this reason, experts in computers are often called IT specialists.

Innovative technologies: The sets of methods and means, supporting the stages of realization of innovations. Various innovative technologies are:
Training (the preparation of personnel and the incubation of small enterprises);
Consulting;
Transfer;
Audit;
Engineering
