|  Rob Thomas, a tattoo artist in Canada, is suffering for his art. He has a total of 50 tattoos all over his body to prove the point. The only spare space left clean on his body are his ribs. En route to the International Tattoo Convention in London, Thomas stated that you have to put yourself through a good deal in order to tattoo other people. The convention itself has attracted 180 of the worlds best tattooists from 48 different countries around the world. Tattooing no longer is solely in the preserve of backstreet artists dealing with bikers and sailors. Rather, tattooing has gone more mainstream and is a part of today's fashion. Thomas indicated that in today's world he tattoos politicians, doctors and the like. He said that he even has tattooed an 84 year old man with his late wife's name intertwined in a rose. He indicated that he did that job for free. Thomas is a walking art gallery, covered with the work of artists he admires from Japan, Germany, the United States and Holland. |
