| This contest is fueled by the following news: |
| | America Online and Warner Brothers have announced an agreement through which many older television programs -- like "Welcome Back Kotter" -- will be made available online. A new broadband network to be called In2TV will be launched in early 2006 by AOL and Warner Brothers Domestic Cable Distribution. The broadband network will also include games, polls and other interactive features. "Welcome Back Kotter," "Sisters," and "Growing Pains" are among the thirty different programs that will be offered initially. The different shows will be grouped into genres by channel including comedy, drama, animation and so forth. In2TV anticipates offering more than 100 TV series and at least 300 different episodes each month during the first year of operation. The programs will be delivered to viewers through AOL Video on Demand, AOL Video Search and AOL Television. At the time of the anticipated launch, the programs will be available exclusively on AOL and will not be in syndication on television, an AOL official familiar with agreement stated. |
