In any case, media giant Viacom believes that there is money in such a venture. Logo, launching soon under the MTV umbrella, is not the first channel to target a gay audience. However, it will be the most widely available, ending up in cable boxes in a total of over 10 million homes across the United States. Further, Logo represents the first time that a major company such as Viacom has entered a niche market. Despite Logo's promise to deliver family friendly programming and entertainment, many people are concerned that there will be too much sex, violence and profanity on the network.
