This contest is fueled by the following news: Initially surfing meant sliding on the waves on a special board, but gradually this concept has expanded, and already sportsmen go for a ride not only on water, but also on snow (snow surfing or snowboarding), on land (for example, karting) and even in air (sky surfing). Surfing is considered as one of the most ancient kinds of sports. Around 3-4 thousand years ago Polynesians used the force of waves and went out into the ocean on a wooden board for fishing. But it was only in the twentieth century it was fully recognized as a kind of sport and began to gain huge popularity. Duke Kahanamoku, the two time Olympic champion in swimming, is considered as the trendsetter. Besides that, surfing simply gives the pleasure from ability to override the wave and gain a high speed; it is also a very good exercise for the body. However, so as to achieve the mastery in this sport, many years of training are required. And before attempting your skills in the ocean, it is better to get the training properly on the shores, doing simple exercises: learn to rise on the board from the lying position, row, dive and many other things. The most interesting places for surfers are located on the Hawaiian Islands, in Australia, Japan, USA and Bali.
