| Adolescent comedy "Superbad" with a budget of over 20 million dollars collected $31.2 million in its opening weekend in USA and occupied #1 at the U.S box office. Leader of previous week - "Peak hour 3" – was knocked down to position #2 by earning 21.8 million. Two week earnings from the film in which Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker participated constituted 88.2 millions- reports Associated press. "Super bad" was a creation of director Greg Mottola and producer Judd Apatow, previously known for directing “The 40-year-Old Virgin” and "Knocked up". Knocked up was released earlier in the June 2007 with the results, similar to that of “Super bad” – earning 30.2 million dollars and by the end of summer, the earnings from the film were approximately 100 millions. Third place in US box office ratings was occupied by “The Bourne Ultimatum” of Paul Greengrass with earnings of 19 million dollars. Film "Invasion", science fiction film with Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig (debut film) and the film “Invasion” could muster only 6 million dollars. |

"Superbad" from Sony Pictures topped the U.S. boxoffice this weekend, and became the record earning movie of the films that ever opened in a month of August. Its weekend ticket receipts totalled $31 million, beating the previous record holder movie "Mortal Combat" that earned $23 million on its opening weekend in August of 1995. "Superbad" is about two nerdy teenage buddies who are looking for girls and booze.
