Steve Irwin Tribute picturesAdvanced Photoshop Pictures Contest - 18 image entries
Contest Directions: Many of us admired Steve Irwin and enjoyed his TV programs and documentaries on wild life, and Steve's sudden death shocked millions of people worldwide. His passion for animals touched the hearts of many people, especially pet lovers. Steve Irwin lived and died doing what he loved the most. In this contest let us pay tribute to the "Crocodile Hunter" by photoshopping Steve Irwin and wild animals in famous paintings. Your painting entry has to include both Steve Irwin and at least one wild animal to qualify for this contest. An animal has to be a wild animal (no domesticated animals - e.g. no cats, dogs, or cows) and may be present in a painting source picture, or can be added there entirely by you. Steve Irwin has to be "in good light" in the entries - it is a tribute contest and we are not looking for "bad humor" here.

At Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin's wildlife part on Tuesday, thousands of people stopped by to pay their respects. The people, many in tears and all deeply saddened by Irwin's truly untimely death, brought cards, flowers and stuffed animals in tribute to Irwin, who clearly will be deeply missed around the world. Irwin was famous for literally wrestling crocodiles and other testy beasts on television. He died while filming a scene for a new Discovery Channel program about wildlife. He was off the Australian coast underwater at the time of his death. He died when a stingray barb punctured his heart. On Tuesday, in honor of Steve Irwin, his wildlife park decided to carry on with business as usual. Although the staff clearly were overwhelmed by Irwin's tragic death, the noted that they appreciate the support that they have received from the public. The spokesperson for the wildlife park noted that it was nice to see how people connected with Irwin. Indeed, the Australian government announced that they would extend to Irwin a state funeral, a rare privilege for a private citizen in any country around the world. |
