American actor, writer, and film director Steve Buscemi celebrated his 55th birthday last Thursday. Born on Friday the 13th in Brooklyn to an Italian father and an Irish mother, Steve showed his artistic talent since his was a kid. Though he always wanted to be an actor, he had to try many jobs to make a living - he was a bartender, an ice-cream truck driver, a stand-up comedian, and (a job he was really proud of) a firefighter. After trying many small roles Buscemi made it big as Mr. Pink in Reservoir Dogs (1992), a role that Tarantino originally wrote for himself. Since then Buscemi was in constant demand by Hollywood directors, appearing in at least 5 movies a year. Some of his noticeable roles were in Desperado, Fargo, The Big Lebowski, Con Air, Armageddon, and The Sopranos. On the web Buscemi is also famous for the Steve Buscemi Eyes meme.
