Contest Directions:
The Star Wars saga made another comeback to the big screen, - this time as CGI animated science fiction film "The Clone Wars". The movie premiered last weekend and placed the third in box office receipts, losing only to "Tropic Thunder" and "The Dark Knight".
It is the first animated movie in the Star Wars series.
It is also the first Star Wars movie distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, instead of 20th Century Fox.
One of the script writers for "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" is Scott Murphy - the mastermind behind all the Space Quest games by Sierra Online.
To celebrate the comeback of Star Wars saga, merge any movie, cartoon, or TV series/sitcom with any of the Star Wars movies. Here's a good example.
the saber knots rock. excellent idea you should turn at least one of them into a full out saber animal. that would bring it up 2 notches.
lol... yeah i agree saber poodle would earn higher votes i think .. good job
i need as many notches as i can get. Good lookin' out!
This like rocks, but what movie, cartoon, or TV series/sitcom is it merged with, I've been racking my brain.
Don't fret Kellie, rack your brain no more; it's "Bozo's Circus"! KTTV-TV in Los Angeles began broadcasting the first show in 1961. Created by Alan Livingston. With Bob Bell, Roy Brown, Frazier Thomas. I apologize for not making them more like bozos but i felt clown make-up was enough 'cuz it was more of a "star wars" thang. Thanx for the comment.
Oh I'm not fretting LoL
Thx for the update, it's not something we had here
by the way on another look at this does it need a crop?...there's still stuff around the borders that were in the original that seem unnecessary here.

There is a lot of work in this one and the voters validated that. Congrads. Bozo's Circus must have been syndicated because I believe we had the show in Miami too.
Nice use of The Transfiguration. One of my favorite Raphael pieces. Last time I remember seeing it here was last year in nothing other than a Star Wars Art contest.
Excellent contest and blending! Hats off!
Thank you. I will try to keep up the standard. The contest subject was inspiring, eh? If it's SF or fantasy related... I'm in!
wow!!! woodyyyyy ,,, cool great picture !!!!! congratulations)))
At my age, I need all the Woodies I can get!!!! LOL Thanks so much! ... OOOOOO
LOL, that's not counting the text layers and masking layers!
Amazing amount of work, & awesome to view.
thought this one would win a trophy. we did have a lowballer in this contest, almost every really good entry was hit with a 1 or 2. I really hate that in close contests like this one. freaking noobs
Thanks everyone for your comments.
Yeah, Jerry, thought this was going to place better myself. Was in the top 3 almost the whole voting time. Am surprised by the placement. :o
Yeah, prolly best to keep that in the forum Jerry, but I understand, man. Makes you wanna go, "Arrrrrrggggghhh!" Deb, You must have the patience of Job. LOL I did something similar with a lot of heads and swore I'd never do that again LOL Once again, nothing but a quality chop from you!
Gr8 addition combining the background with the original source, I would try to get the "coming soon" banner to match size of rest of image.
Hello Kellie, That original source is my pages of Devianart. Is my original. . Thanks .

Fantastic work, you should have just posted your source then, it is yours after all
The coming soon matches the very first layer background border kellie, i think the problem here is it is an OOB border style but comic guys OOB parts, cape etc have been cut out
lol yeah obviously those parts aren't the authors own like he claims sid... another easy chop win it looks like.. thats fine.. i blame the voters.. this is not all its cracked up to be .. in my book
I checked out the deviant gallery of darthwil and he is a very good artist. There is another one by darthwil that looks almost identical to this one as far as the style and some of the elements that aren't in the other one. Most deviants I know wouldn't chop apart two of their deviations for a PS contest. I mean he even signs his work. If this is darthwil, you are a fine artist. If it isn't ,well we will know soon enough.
I don't know why all the ummmms, this is an amazing piece of illustrative work & obviously belongs to the author.
guess now we know. well Kellie it was a little suspect, even you thought he used a source, and darthwil is new. welcome to Freaking News darthwil. Love your gallery at deviant
Yes Jerry I did think that BUT when the author stated it was his I believed him & commented so, only for you to keep carrying it on.
Welcome to the Madhouse DW
I wasn't carrying anything on Kellie I was responding to acebounce. You found one source and I found another that was used for this piece, of course it was suspect. I was trying to give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I never accused anyone of anything. I even applauded his other work. Come on. The sources didn't "obviously" belong to anyone except the deviant artist darthwil until his name was revealed here. When did you post that comment anyway, after his name was revealed? I'm j/k lol
[Edited by User on 8/24/2008 8:01:38 PM]
Note to darthwil. If you are going to use your sources from deviant to chop here, you will have no anonymity. The sources are checked by many members here. It's fine to use your own work, just telling you that everyone will know it is you now. Anonymity is sort of an unwritten rule here.I have been warned for hinting a chop was mine in the forums an hour before voting was over. Wasn't intentional , just saying. I think if people knew the entries were mine they would vote me low just because they hate me. Well, except Kellie who has a thing for me, and Sid who...well I think also has a thing for me and oh yeah AZRainman for the same reason... no they don't all hate me but I try to mix up my style to surprise people, like my ... and the Sky entry for example. Anyway, just keep your voting fair and keep popping out nice work and you will fit right in and again welcome to FN.

I know darthwil before anyone of you, he is an awesome artist from Puerto Rico like me. I think tha accused some one of anything before his identity is revealed it's like try to influence in the voting precess, so to my freaking partner next time just wait until voting period finish to make any point or flag entry. Darthwil i'm so proud of your work.
Love the idea and attention to detail but the silhouette bugs me. Maybe use a front view source for the Vader helmet silhouette so it looks centered and maybe fade the edges so it doesn't look so choppy. Still great work.
Looking at my entry now you are right Jerry! The silhouette was wrong! Thanks for the input! Wasn't easy to edit but done my best!
Fan-freaking-tastic! My fave part is Cartman as Yoda... Still laughing!
[Edited by User on 8/22/2008 6:23:18 PM]
I've seen Cartman playing Yoda a bit before, but this is fantastic.
You captured the southpark line style in the Vader face perfectly as well as the storm troopers. I think you are ready to illustrate for the south park team! Fun chop Jerry!
Doing a Seinfeld crossed my mind too. Both are fantastic. I actually got scolded on the imdb boards by Larry Thomas (The Soup Nazi) when I said that Uwe Boll is the worst director that ever lived. He was working on Postal with him at the time. He went a little postal on me in a private email. I had no idea who he was until I checked his profile. Once I learned who he was I thanked him for scolding me. I got to tell all my friends that I was scolded by the Soup Nazi. He turned out to be a nice guy and we chatted for awhile back and forth. I learned that he is very sensitive about his image being used on products like t-shirts because the people who own Seinfeld own the rights to the image of the Soup Nazi and even he isn't allowed to use it. So he sells signed soup ladles and scours ebay for pirated Soup Nazi merchandise. Sorry , long but true story and it kind of gives a funny perspective to this image. I think he would love this entry.
I should be so honored if Larry Thomas himself liked the entry. Seinfeld is one of my all-time favorite sitcoms.
SidKain c3po is basic source, just used parts from sleeves to make him more benderfied (eyes & teeth hand done) and added backgrounds ,levels, pod, usual stuff to make a grainy source slightly better
Very well blended, but I'd add some more Star Wars elements into composition (clothes, light sabers, etc)
That is Mace Windu and Padme Amidala.Mace is wearing a light saber and he has a Jedi logo on his hat. Changing anymore would have taken the Nashville Star out of it. I'm a real hillbilly Newsy, but still a die hard fanboy. lol Thanks.
Very creative concept. The table on the right seems to be vertically cut with the layer. Singing Vader in the background is the best part. Hilarious - Jar Jar is not the strictest judge. Can you hear him saying "Dreadful"!?
Coolness, but I'd add some shadows from the two front figures onto princess (especially from the front woman's hair and shoulder)
I was going for that 70s TV guide look Newsy. The source had no shadows either. Most every 3's Company DVD cover looks like the either actors posed alone or with just Janet and Jack and then superimposed together. Probably because they couldn't keep the third role filled. There was actually masking issues with Jacks head in the original .

This contest is fueled by the following news: "Star wars: The Clone Wars" - differs from traditional "Star wars" as it is an animated film.
The events occur between "Attack of clones" and "Revenge of the Sith". This episode is one of the best in the history of Star Wars.
In the center of narration - a short briefing in the second and third episodes, Anakin Skywalker (voice by Matt Lanter), Skywalker, along with favourite heroes Obi-Wan Kenobi (James Arnold Taylor), Padme Amidala (Catherine Taber) and Ashoka Tano (Ashley Drane), Padawan of Anakin, who joins the team, carries out a battle against global evil.
The heroes are confronted by the supreme chancellor Palpatine (Ian Abercrombie), count Dooku (Christopher Lee) and General Grievous (Mathew Wood) — and carry out capturing a plan of the Galaxy. The last fight begins and the destinies of the Universe are entrusted with the knights-Jedi. Their exploits become the brightest episodes of fights and will present a set of surprising openings.
One of the most remarkable characters of the animated film is Count Dooku, who is lent his voice by Christopher Lee. His inimitable saturated bass voice ensures an unforgettable impression for the viewer.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is also an interesting character. With his "sculptural" beard, saber and hand indicating forward, like a Greek statue, Obi-Wan Kenobi seems to be more similar to a participant of "300 Spartans" than the captain of a spaceship.
In the animated film, it is necessary to mention that the "style" of Dave Filoni, author of the very popular cartoon film "Avatar" in America, is clearly visible. Lucas did not refuse the idea of the making of a multi-serial cartoon film "The Clone Wars". The full-length film will be some sort of prelude to the start of the serial on TV in the USA and Western Europe.
The animated film is distributed by Lucasfilm Animation. The producers are George Lucas, Catherine Winder and Sarah Wall. The animation manga style is used in the cartoon film. The tendency of authors towards high-end technical effects is visible in the cartoon film: the movements of the characters look mechanical; less attention is given to the dialogues. It brings the cartoon film together with the picture by Jerry and Sylvan Anderson "Harbingers of Storm" and the serial "Fireball XL5" 1962-1963.
Previous "Star Wars" has been given a wide platform, on which, it is possible to develop a next battle. Now Lucas has the possibilities to actually develop infinite histories of the wars.
The popular theme by John Williams in arrangement is played in the beginning and at the end of the cartoon film. Music on the animated film is scored by Kevin Kiner. The composer created the new theme for each episode.
